Lost a good one.....

After 12 1/2 years we said good bye to our Floyd yesterday.

I took this picture awhile ago, knowing that one day I'd look back on it when he was gone and it would make me smile.

We miss you so much already little man......

Floyd in his favorite spot, soaking up the sun.

Hugs,

  2. Ooooh, I`m so sorry, Megan! He looks like a very handsome dog and he could have get older than *just* 12 1/2 years.
I`m not really good in *letting go*, so I think, when the time comes and our dog will leave this world, it will be a very, very sad time for our family. Don`t wanna think of it, although it`s a part of nature. He`s getting 10 years this year.
    All the best,

  3. My heart goes out to you. That picture makes me tear up a little. It's hard to say goodbye to family, especially the furry kind...

  4. Thanks so much for your kind, encouraging comments. He was quite a character. I know that some day he'll be there to greet us at the pearly gates, just like he did here on earth.

  5. Megan, I'm so sorry. Your sweet Floyd looks so content laying in the sun. Dachshunds have such unique and special personalities that just steal your heart, they're like little people...our Miss. Ginger (14) is and she likes those sun spots too (they're like cats that way). He will meet you again, I believe that 100%...and until then, he'll be basking in a very special kind of light while he waits for you...one that will never go out.
Big hugs Megan, for you and your family...Floyd's wonderful spirit will be with you all always. ♥
    Much love,
    Jessica

  6. Jessica, thank you so much. You have a beautiful way with words, so touching.

Dachshunds are such special little creatures, attitude and all. Hope one day we can have coffee and get to know one another better.

    hugs,

  7. heart breaker. sorry for your loss. i understand the emotional connection we have to these special little living gifts from god and how when they are around we can feel a bit more grounded and comforted.
i recently heard a program on npr about pet therapy and how dogs and humans transmit endorphins when giving affection.
i do hope this finds you comforted.
