Party "PEEPS" in the house.......

We've been a little busy around here....

I've been workin' on the Mr. to get chickens for several years, finally I got the green light.

I'd like to introduce you to our new "girls".

Pretty cute, huh?  I took these pictures a few days after we got them.

We're not in agreement on the names yet, but being a big Dixi Chicks fan, one

of my daughters decided to named hers Martie.

They're almost 4 weeks now.

I have to tell you with zero hesitation ....  They're nowhere near as cute

today as they were when I took these pictures.  They're growing up at warp

speed and it's kind of freaking me out!  This morning I went down stairs to see

how they were doing and I swear, they've grown into teenagers overnight!!!

By the way(because I know you're wondering about the death grip), the chick above was not hurt.

Anyway...I thought I'd give you a peek at our new feathered friends.

Any tips on raising chicks/chickens are appreciated and gladly accepted!

A little side note...

My 7 year old went to a birthday party at an art studio this weekend and here's

what she worked on.   Turns out it was a complete coincidence that she got to

draw the 3 chicks.

I just love it!

Happy Thursday to all you chicks & peeps!!!

Yard Sale Saturday.....

Took a few pics for a sneak peak.  Let me know if any of you would like to come on by for a look, I'll send my address your way!
There's also another HUGE sale that day at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church.  It's been rumored to have a designer section and some great furniture too.

Hope you can make it!!!

Retail therapy....

First off, I'm a sucker for a deal...

I'm thinking this might be why I have a garage full of stuff I never use or I'm sick of.
Time for a garage sale!  Oh, that's another positing(coming up).

Anyway, I came across a few treasures I just couldn't pass up.

I've been crazy about trophy bowls for the past couple years.  I found these in a little antique store in Bothell a fews weeks ago.  Don't think I paid more than 30 bucks for both of them.

Love this one, it's huge and it's from a local golf club in 1972(a year before I was born).
It's great for ice and drinks.

This one's smaller. It's from a sailing race in Santa Barbara.

Next.......

I found this footed truffle dish at a Home Goods store in Palm Desert last week.
What a steal, $9. 99.

Wish we had a Home Goods here in Washington.
I love that store.  Problem is that I never have enough room in my suitcase.
Wah!

Lastly, I found this little guy for $5.95 at The Alley, ANOTHER store we DON'T have here!
Does he look a little angry or is it just me?

It's funny how a little retail therapy (on the cheep) brightens up your house and your "tude".

I say when life gives you lemons,
hit a few discount stores;)

Hugs,
Megan

Happy Easter!

In case you're wondering.....

I've been out of town enjoying spring break with my family.
lots of swimming, sunning, golfing, shopping and of course EATING(back to the gym asap)!

No internet access is why I've been so checked out of blog land lately.  We're back now to the bump and grind... setting alarms, making lunches, doing homework, catching school busses tomorrow(I hope)etc. etc. etc.

Just wanted to wish you all a very blessed Easter!

hugs
m

PS.  We missed the earthquake in Cali by a day, Phew!
